Student Wellbeing Services at Thornbury High School

Students are better prepared for learning when they are healthy, safe and happy, therefore, student welfare is the responsibility of all staff working in a whole school context. Student learning cannot be separated from welfare

(DEECD, Framework for Student Support Services)

Thornbury High School has a whole school approach to wellbeing with numerous staff available to support students including: form teachers, coordinators, managers, attendance officers and wellbeing staff.

Thornbury High School’s Student Wellbeing Services (SWS) department reflects the school’s longstanding commitment to providing every young person with the right to complete their education in a safe and supportive learning environment. In line with the school’s core values charter, the SWS department provide health and wellbeing support to young people as they navigate their way through education, adolescence and prepare for adulthood.
