Thornbury Alumni

The Thornbury Alumni (TA) has been established by a group of graduates and teachers in April 2005. The Alumni itself is essentially an association of the students, graduates and staff of Thornbury Darebin College/Thornbury High School/Northcote TS. TA aims at improving and maintaining contacts between past students, teachers and current students of the college.

The TA is a non profit organization and any funds we gather will be allocated in any Alumni planned events. The TA has constructed a membership information database.

TA Aims and Objectives

As the Alumni, the TA will be heavily involved in organizing activities and gatherings for past students and former staff, as well as aiming to provide support, direction and guidance for forthcoming school leavers into work or higher education.

We also seek to strengthen connections between alumni members and the school by establishing a number of mentoring/support programs for alumni members to provide experience and advice to students of career opportunities and life beyond high school.

Undoubtedly our members will be from many different occupations and areas of expertise, which could potentially develop into partnerships and/or employment network of TA members.

We hope to provide plenty of opportunities for everyone to keep in touch regularly with their former school peers instead of simply hoping to see them on the street or searching blindly.

At TA, we aim to “Connect the past with the future.”

The Alumni has commissioned the school’s web page designers to establish an online database of past students which will have similar features to ‘Facebook’.
